Konstantin Gudauskas, a Jew born in Kazakhstan, sought political asylum in Ukraine. When the Russian invasion commenced on 24 February 2022, he utilized his Kazakh passport to move freely into the occupied regions and assist in evacuating civilians. Over the following months, he managed to rescue 203 individuals from the occupied territories. Witnessing the horrors of war and the brutalities of the Russian occupation firsthand, Konstantin was supported and directed by Haide Rizaeva, a Crimean Tatar and an employee of the Main Intelligence Directorate.
